For over a decade, Tyler Richard has worked to impact the hearts and minds of Nebraskans on a wide range of civil liberties and social justice issues. A life-long Nebraskan, Tyler was born and raised in Omaha and moved to Lincoln to attend Nebraska Wesleyan University. Upon graduating, he worked for Planned Parenthood out of Lincoln. Prior to coming to the ACLU in 2010, he also worked as a consultant for political candidates, nonprofit organizations and government agencies. Tyler has served on the Nebraska Wesleyan University Alumni Executive Council, the board of Outlinc, an LGBTQ community center, and is a fellow of the Leadership Lincoln class 28.
A fan of science fiction, Legos, and live theatre, Tyler views his work as telling stories to change the world.
