On Feb 22, the Nebraska Legislature Government Committee held a hearing on a bill to eliminate the two-year waiting period for potential voters with a felony conviction. A 2016 ACLU of Nebraska investigation found that half of Nebraska counties provided inaccurate information on voting rights for people with a conviciton history. In spite of the law changing in 2005 to allow people with a conviction history to vote after two years, a 2018 investigation showed that Nebraska had not yet updated federal election forms.
