Ruby Méndez López

Bio

Ruby Méndez López, grew up in Crete, NE. There she was supported by a family and community of packing plant workers. When she left for college in Kearney and felt lost she found new and similar communities who supported her in Lexington, Gibbon, and Grand Island. She has graduated college and has moved into the adult world, but only because of her support systems. She, like many other young advocates, is now defending her family members and communities facing inequalities due to COVID-19.
