Policy Director

Bio

Cassy leads the ACLU of Nebraska's legislative and municipal advocacy efforts, working in partnership with the team, community members, elected officials and coalition partners to protect and expand civil rights and civil liberties in Nebraska.

Cassy joined the team after more than six years of service in State Sen. Megan Hunt’s legislative office in a role encompassing communications strategy, constituent engagement, policy research, stakeholder collaboration, office operations and more. In addition to legislative service, she led Hunt’s 2022 re-election campaign, designed and facilitated reproductive rights workshops as an Amnesty International trainer, and supported policy and state relations work in two positions at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

This is Cassy’s second job at the ACLU of Nebraska. In college, she spent a semester in a pre-law internship with our team, supporting our organization’s litigation on behalf of Nebraskans who had been denied access to needed medical care.

Cassy studied Political Science at UNL.
