Staff Attorney

Bio

Carter joined the team in October 2025 as a staff attorney. In his role, he primarily works on First Amendment-related issues, Indigenous Justice, and our Smart Justice campaign.

His previous work experience includes time at Legal Aid of Nebraska as a civil litigator. This also marks a return for Carter to the ACLU-NE team, as he served as a law clerk with us while still in law school! He is most excited about the opportunity to defend and advance the civil liberties of every person that calls Nebraska home.

Carter graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with honors, and received his law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law cum laude.
