Julia joined the team in August 2025 as a Weitz Fellow for the year 2025/26. Julia chose the ACLU of Nebraska looking for concrete ways to uplift marginalized communities, and she is eager to provide support across the team’s development, communications, legal and advocacy teams. Additionally, she is excited to get more firsthand experience in community organizing and learn about the essential behind-the-scenes work of non-profit management.

Julia’s passion for people and social justice emanate from her upbringing in Portmore, Jamaica. A proud international student, she received her BA in political science and international relations with a minor in Africana studies from Carleton College in Northfield, MN. Her undergraduate career was marked by leadership in intercultural organizations and social policy internships, and she remains committed to pouring into people and community building through her work at the ACLU of Nebraska.
